Integrated Risk Assessment

The importance of risk assessment as the cornerstone of SHEQ management is well understood by our team and a principal we communicate strongly in our training. The role it plays in showing that a management team foresaw and took sensible steps to prevent lies at the heart of limiting the employer’s legal liability exposures. We have assisted mining and non-mining employers in comprehensive risk assessments that serve this purpose admirably. Investigations, Inquiries and Criminal Prosecutions

Health and Safety legal liabilities are now undoubtedly one of the major financial and criminal risks faced by employers in South Africa. Investigations, inquiries and criminal prosecutions have in the past proven to pave the way for civil suits against companies and even against directors personally. It is not overstating the case to say that legal compliance with relevant legislation is nothing less than critical to corporate survival.

Our legal team can therefore assist from the start to the conclusion of any such actions.

Our reactive services include the following:

  • Facilitation of the investigation process so as to ensure the proper collection and analyses of evidentiary material.
  • Correct formulation of documentation for submission to the Department of Mineral Resources or the Department of Labour.
